  • Lunch break and I am having a light week.  I am pretty dedicated to my value system and because of that I had to cease working at the Safety Council which I dearly loved doing.  They have a new Administrator who has no recovery experience and it really shows she has a Masters in Public Health Administration.  Anyway she changed one of my recommendations and I could not live with that so I resigned.  Down side of that is that I had to give up a pretty good chunk of money which is sad because that was my play money that let me do the fun things in life.  Up side is that I have already committed to another contract that pays better so the Universe agreed with me hehe.  I will miss doing the weekend workshop for heavy dwi offenders a lot but then you cant have everything.  I still get to teach the minor awareness program for minors caught in possession.  I am grateful for that.

Room restoration project is coming along nicely.  Guy at the paint store says I used more mud on one room than most use on an entire house but the walls are textured nicely and I love them.  I decided not to show him the room because he might have an orgasm and mess up the new carpet. hehe.  Actually he didn’t even ask.

  • Greetings fine xangites.  A most mar vellos weekend has just closed.  I met my internet buddies in St. Louie over memorial day and we had lots of fun.  Here is a couple of pics before we checked out of the room to go home.

We ate and talked and talked and ate and talked and talked and ate and talked and talked.  We also spent a few hours at the National Mueseum of Transportation.  I love that place cause I have always had an affinity for trains.

I did an individual hypnosis session with each of them and they all said they liked it.

It was just a fantastic weekend.

Hope you all had an equally good time.

Dorothy, linda, and I send warm loving vibes to Enid, Mary and dhupa.  And much love to Karly who is no longer on this plane.

  • mothers day has come and gone.  Lover had a really special day.  Her potbellied, scraggely bearded old fart husband gave her a HD flat screen TV and two of her three kids and great grandson spent a good part of the day with her and she was soooo happy.  Then I took her to Oceans Zen for supper and she had her two favorite foods which are giant crab legs and filet mignon.  It is nice to see someone who has been through so much be so happy.

Here is a photo of great grandson gaige.  I put one in B & W and the other I left in color.  I kinda like the B & W.  As a matter of fact that is all you will get to see because I flushed the others and have to try to retrieve them.

I am redoing a room in the domicile.  Texturing the walls and recarpeting and stuff.  I am covered in sheet rock mud and loving every minute of it.

  • I was thinking today (which is not unusual) that if I could emulate any one in the world I would emulate david longley because that is the only person I can ever be.

Here is a pic of me in my psuedo intellectual years.

  • Just received a testy email from ATT saying that my virus was spamming people and they were not pleased.  I went back to Norton Anti Viris because Avaste caught the culprit but could not disable it.  Anybody out there remember Homer and Jethro who made comic parodies of popular tunes. Might scope them out they are pretty funny in a forties and fifties sort of way.  Also remember Andy Griffith singing Grannys Lye Soap.  Little Herman and cousin Therman had an aversion to washing their ears, granny washed em with her lye soap and they havent heard a word in years.

I read an interesting analogy the other day.  When someone dumps on you, did you ever consider that people are like garbage trucks and they go around all day collecting garbage, (Having the boss yell at you, messing up a report, getting the wrong item for lunch, spilling your coffee in the board room and stuff) and when their garbage trucks get full they have to dump the garbage and since most don’t have the best people skills they end up dumping on people and seldom realize that they are dumping.  So the next time someone does that you can smile and say their garbage truck was full and know inside that it has nothing to do with you.

  • greetings from the no longer absent blogger.  Took lover to a show last weekend.  Here is a pic with me and Marilyn and Lover and Elvis.  The show was called legends where live people impersonate dead people.  So it wasn’t the real Marilyn or the real Elvis but it was the real david and real lover.  [I met Elvis in a roadhouse in TexArkanna, Texas in the summer of 1955 on a road trip.  Roadhouses in Texas in those days were a bit rowdy so they had chicken wire barriers between the band and rednecks.  No fights that night though.  I bought Elvis a beer and he tipped the bottle at me.]  Lover and I ate in Montana Mikes steakhouse and the food was impeccable.  There were at least 50 tables of varying sizes and they were all full. Herd em in and herd em out in time for the show.  Then after the show we went to the room and watched fast food nation on dvd.  Glad I didn’t send my steak back lol.  Yesterday was interesting.  I bought a new computer last Monday and had that rascal almost set up and planned to have a geek help me fine tune it on Saturday.  On Thursday evening a virus slipped through the masses of protection and hid itself in my root system.  So we spent hours trying to get rid of the rascal and ended up reformatting the entire computer.  Oh well the sucker is running smoothly now.  I had a year and a half old HP that I just did not like because of all the stuff they put on it that I didn’t want never used and couldn’t get rid of without crashing the computer.  I bought a Clone that had xp and nero and that was it.  So I almost think it is my own personal computer and that is a most wonderful feeling for an ego maniac like me.  My grandson Ryan is now in the Air Force in Germany and blogs as Mizzou Cat.  If you are interested in catching a loquacious blog about learning to live in Germany.

  • Does anyone happen to know what the world record is for volume of poop in one diaper in the eleven month catagory.  I don’t know whether to go through the hassel of making the new record official (Roux just set it) or just be satisfied knowing the record is ours and will probably never been broken.  The up side is that we have enough poop to make enough methane gas to heat the house for a month.  There is no down side as far as I can see because we had a lot of fun loading in a wheel barrow.

This is my last day in Tacoma and I cannot believe time can pass so quickly.

Babbling Babs Bistro for a farewell lunch any one?

  • Welcome to Tacoma it is bright and sunny no it is cloudy no it is bright and sunny no it is cloudy no it is bright and sunny no it is cloudy.  I get the Rouxster all day every day and it is a most delightful experience a complete giving and receiving of love.  The little rascal does not even fight sleep unless mom or dad is trying to put him down ggl.  He is being exposed to subliminal Ribaldry as the content of the songs I sing him to sleep are forming cellular memories for use in college.  The kids are really good parents and are raising him to be a citizen of the world.  He has only been to two countries so far but that should change after his first birthday.  The are vegetarian and into pure foods and clothing and wooden toys and stuff like that.  I smile and don’t offer suggestions because I do a lot of that myself.

Bottom line is that I was put on earth to enjoy him and that I am doing.  We ate supper at a place called Anthony’s and watched the seals play and gulls fly around and watched a loon act crazy which is pretty amazing stuff when you live in Missouri.

Roux and I were cackling all day and right up to the minute he dozed off.  Pictures coming soon.

Ah the answer to the font I used last time.  It is called david.  You will notice that I used a different font this time because that is what the get for naming a font after me without my permission ggl.

  • Damn I lost another blog.  Hit save to the clipboard and it got eaten.

Ok so I will start my blog over on word.  Did you ever think that you had done a marvelous job as a parent and then find out later that your daughter had not been properly trained.  I discovered this morning when I went to feed the rouxster that cookies and ice cream are not acceptable fare for an eleventh month old child and then appalling facts opened themselves to me to let me know that my work here is certainly daunting.  He has never had a mushroom burger with swiss cheese and steak fries, never tasted a jalapeno pepper or had gumbo.  Brandy and a cigar after a lovely meal is something he has never experienced.  Furthermore he has not yet been skydiving, to a casino, or brothel, never shot the rapids in a canoe, gone mountain climbing or even been in a kayak.  Has never been to a foreign country, crawled a marathon or eaten atop the Eiffel tower.  I may have been only slightly zealous in my ambitions for his first year and I now realize it is his grandfathers duty to make sure certain rites of passage are experienced.  I have come up with a brilliant idea called a twolet list.  This is similar to a bucket list for us old farts.  If a bucket list is what we want to accomplish before we die then a twolet list is what a properly schooled grandson accomplishes before he is two.  If you have any creative ideas for this list then I would love to hear them.

Not much on my bucket list right now.  Parasailing this summer,  Fishing in the Padres, St. Louie with internet buds and some time in Chi town.

What’s on your bucket list for the next few months.
